Peter Maniatis is a Melbourne-based traveller, business owner and observer of ordinary moments that become meaningful in hindsight. His photography is less about spectacle than attention — the street corner, the window, the journey, the person caught inside a brief passage of time.

The work gathers slowly. A street in low light. A room before anyone arrives. Weather moving across a plain. He photographs the way most people remember — not the landmark, but the feeling of standing near it; not the event, but the quiet just before or after.

These pages hold what has stayed: photographs from journeys through India, Japan, South Africa, Tasmania, the Australian centre, and the cities and coastlines of Europe and the Mediterranean — including a long thread of Greek and Cypriot memory that runs underneath it all.
